How to Give Gifts of Bequests

Residual Bequest:
A residual bequest benefits Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc., with all or a portion of your remaining assets after your estate expenses are paid and your specific gifts to family or others have been fulfilled.

Language: I give and devise to Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc., located in Sarasota, Florida, all (or state a percentage) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, to be used for the general purposes of such charitable organization (or to be used in support of the __________ fund, program, or project).

Specific Bequest:
A specific bequest allows you to make a gift of a set dollar amount or a specific asset for Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc. Specific gifts are used when you want an exact amount to benefit Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc., or have a specific asset, such as books or collectibles, which you want us to receive.

Language: I give and devise to Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc., located in Sarasota, Florida, the sum of $___________ (or _________ asset) to be used for the general purposes of such charitable organization (or in support of a specific fund or program).
